We met at the park at 6:30 in the morning and picked up the trash along two miles of FM 965. We enjoyed seeing the sunrise and the cool morning air. Each of us walked a 1 mile stretch of roadway. We filled up three large trash bags. We have an agreement with TXDOT to do this trash off four times a year, and our next will be late October or so. Among other things, you can enjoy feeling self-righteous, sanctimonious, and holier-than-thou. In the past we have picked up trash inside the park, but there isn’t much; I think our visitors pick it up as a natural response to being in such a beautiful place.
